Participation in DVHS Circle of Friends is a huge commitment. Please take time to read through what is expected of club members.

Our main program is our lunchtime meet-ups. Members are required to meet with a special-need student, their buddy, on a weekly basis and on a day of their choosing. Members are allowed to have groups of up to 2-3 people, including themselves. In order to ensure participation in this program, officers will be expecting "photo check-ins": When an individual/group meets their buddy, they must take a photo sometime during lunch and send it through the Remind app to an officer. In addition, a monthly google spreadsheet must be filled out as well. A strike is given when a photo or spreadsheet submission isn't received to an officer within the day alloted for meeting the buddy. A strike will not be given if officers are notified of the absence beforehand. Members are allowed up to three strikes for missing lunch meet-ups. Failure to do these task can result in expulsion from the club. If you do not have access to a cellular device, please let an officer know and we will work out another method with you.

Lunchtime Meet-ups

Every month, on Wednesdays, the club holds meeting in room 4104. The purpose of these meetings is to go over future events and fundraisers, ensure the meet-ups with buddies is going smoothly, and occasionally for potlucks. Attending these meetings is important, and repetitive absences cannot be tolerated. A sign-in sheet will be passed around every meeting; if officers notice multiple unexcused absences, you may be exempt from the club. Absences run by with officers beforehand are considered excused, and no strikes will be given. Keep in mind, officers hold the right to exempt people out of the club for not following the membership requirements.

Monthly Meetings

Our outside events are usually get-togethers with our buddies. Volunteers help to coordinate booths and hang out with the buddies. Usually there is food provided and volunteers are exempt from any fees. These events and sign-ups for the events will be posted in our "Events Calendar" section in advance. While it is not a requirement to attend every event we hold outside of school, it is a good way to show commitment and sincerity.
